Netherlands deploys its largest-ever security operation
The Netherlands has deployed its largest-ever security operation, codenamed Operation Orange Shield, ahead of the NATO summit in The Hague, mobilizing over 10,000 military and police personnel, seven naval frigates, helicopters, bomb squads, air defence systems and sea patrols to safeguard the event expected to host around 6,000 delegates from 32 countries including U.S. and European leaders, with a tightly controlled secure corridor from Schiphol Airport and robust cybersecurity measures in place given the anticipated protests and geopolitical threats, marking a historic security mobilization by the Dutch state.
