Dutch consumer advocacy groups are moving forward with a collective legal action against Booking.com, accusing the online travel giant of inflating hotel prices through restrictive pricing clauses.

The organizations claim the company’s enforcement of so-called price parity agreements has prevented hotels from offering lower rates on competing platforms or directly to consumers.

The legal filing seeks millions in damages and aims to set a precedent for fair competition in the digital travel market.

Booking.com has not yet publicly responded to the impending lawsuit.
