Amber Alert Issued for Missing Siblings in the Netherlands
Police operation underway following the abduction of 11-year-old Leya’nyssa and 6-year-old M’qaydian in Dalfsen.
An Amber Alert has been issued for two siblings who were reported missing after an abduction in Dalfsen, Netherlands, on Monday morning at 08:00 local time.
The children are identified as 11-year-old Leya’nyssa, known as Leya, and her 6-year-old brother M’qaydian, known as M’Qaydi.
They were last seen at the station in Dalfsen, a town located in the province of Overijssel.
According to authorities, the siblings lived in a residential care facility.
In connection with the abduction case, a police operation has taken place at a residence in Enschede, which is also located in Overijssel.
The circumstances of the operation and any potential link to the abduction have not been disclosed by law enforcement officials.
The local police department has released a statement urging anyone with information regarding the children's whereabouts to come forward and assist in their safe return.
The issuance of the Amber Alert is part of the Netherlands' national child abduction alert system, designed to swiftly disseminate information concerning missing children to the public when their safety is believed to be at risk.
Authorities are continuing their efforts to locate Leya and M’Qaydi, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
