Tata Steel IJmuiden Secures Initial Green Transition Subsidies to Decommission High-Emissions Blast Furnaces

The Dutch government has approved an initial tranche of transition subsidies for Tata Steel IJmuiden, allowing the massive industrial complex to begin decommissioning its most polluting coal-fired blast furnaces in favor of cleaner direct reduced iron technologies while preserving thousands of manufacturing jobs.
