Dutch Government Completes Privacy Audit of AWS Data Protection Practices
High-risk data transfer concerns resolved through rigorous assessment
The Dutch government has successfully concluded a comprehensive privacy impact assessment of Amazon Web Services, finding no remaining high data protection risks after implementing robust mitigation measures including encryption, pseudonymisation and strict contractual limitations on data processing.
This outcome followed a detailed evaluation of AWS services such as EC2, S3, and RDS, and was supported by negotiated agreements to manage sensitive personal data according to stringent Dutch standards, effectively addressing earlier concerns about overseas data access.
